While his early career was rooted in performance, he ultimately discovered his true passion lay in producing and directing—leveraging his acting background to bring a performance-driven approach to filmmaking.
Following a decade-long hiatus to gain critical business and production insights, he returned to the industry with a clear vision for creating premier-quality content. His hands-on approach ensures that every project under The Octopi Group is executed with efficiency, creativity, and strategic distribution in mind.
THE BROTHERS McCLAIN, PATRICK and DAN
The Corner was conceived about 12 years ago when Patrick was headed to one of his favorite Chicago neighborhood watering holes, Bird’s Nest. Owned by a close friend and frequented by college friends, “The Nest” is the type of place where you may share wings over a game one moment and then find yourself behind the bar pouring Guinness five hours later.
Patrick noticed a funeral home across the street. Life across the street from death. What if the owner wanted the life of the bar rather than the death of the funeral home? The idea of opposing character arcs driven by this question, connected by something that seems so good but goes so incredibly wrong, inspired Patrick to complete the original script and a multitude of revisions. After being set aside for a decade and sharing with Dan, Zachary and The Octopi Group offered an opportunity to reimagine and produce The Corner together as The Brothers McClain.
